Greater Bridgeport Disability Advocates
April 19, 2012: Driving Information for Disabled & Seniors
Thursday April 19, 2012 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM in the Wheeler Room of the Bridgeport City Hall, 45 Lyon Terrace.
The speaker for the April meeting of The Greater Bridgeport Disability Advocates will be Tricia Coppola-Passariello from the Easter Seals Mobility Center. She will discuss the procedures and resources available for seniors and people with disabilities to start, continue, or resume driving. Her presentation will cover evaluation, training and adaptive equipment. Tricia is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist. She is also a member of The Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists and The National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association.
The Advocacy has representatives from all of the towns in the Greater Bridgeport region and addresses issues relating to all categories of disabilities. Recent speakers have addressed a variety of topics, such as, emergency management for the disabled, accessible transportation for those with mobility impairments, vocational rehabilitation and issues faced by people coping with mental illness.
